Tip 1
Pain is information, not a challenge
Pushing through pain doesn't make you tougher, it often prolongs the recovery process. Learn to recognise the difference between muscle fatigue and pain that signals an injury. The sooner you address small issues, the less likely they are to become long-term setbacks.
Tip 2
Earn your way back after injury
Returning to dance isn't about waiting until you're pain-free, it's about gradually rebuilding strength, stability and confidence. Before returning to full rehearsals or performances, make sure you can comfortably tolerate the demands of training in a controlled environment first. A structured return almost always leads to better long-term outcomes than rushing back too soon.
Tip 3
Recovery is part of your training
Your body doesn't get stronger during training, it gets stronger when it recovers. Prioritise quality sleep, adequate protein, hydration and planned rest days to give your muscles, tendons and bones the resources they need to repair and adapt. Recovery isn't time off, it's part of the programme.
